Etienne Slabbert
FOUNDER, MANAGING PARTNER & CIO
Dr. Etienne Slabbert is a seasoned Group Chief Information Officer and Executive at board level in multi-disciplinary financial services. He brings over 30 years of experience with a global footprint across IT and business.
He has extensive experience leading technology strategy across the financial sector, having served as Group CIO for a diversified financial services group and as CIO & Managing Director for Barclays Africa’s Rest of Africa operations, overseeing 12 banks in 11 countries. Earlier in his career, he held senior CIO and executive roles at Absa and Barclays Africa, following earlier positions at Infoplan and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).
Dr. Slabbert focuses on turnaround management, executive leadership, and maximizing stakeholder value.
He holds a PhD in Management of Technology and Innovation from the DaVinci Institute and an MBA from Oxford Brookes University, UK. He completed the prestigious IMD Mastering Board Governance program, equipping him with advanced expertise in corporate governance, strategic oversight, and boardroom effectiveness.
